If I’m in NYC, I’m staying at The Bowery. Great location, amazing food, and stunning design. The dark green taxidermy-stuffed lobby bar is a great place to grab a drink and people watch. Did I mention the free bike rentals?

Intelligentsia has taken my coffee addiction to a whole new level. The coffee bar in Venice, designed by Ana Henton of MASS Architecture & Design says good riddance to the comfy couches and faux chalkboard menu of Starbucks and replaced it with industrial design and fanatical preparation that adds up to an amazing coffee experience.

One of my favorite possessions in the world is a wooden corkscrew that I “accidentally” brought home from a vacation at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, CA.

It’s reliable, fits in my pocket, and reminds me of an amazing vacation with Kristan and friends. We drink a lot of wine and this guy is all I ever thought I’d need- until now.

Michael Chiarello has made available what I’ve spent years scouring flea markets looking for. An old school wall mounted bottle opener, available through Napa Style for only $169. Substantial, good looking and just plain kick ass…

KC, if you’re reading this, just a reminder that my birthday is October 1.
