As the old saying goes, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” and often, I find this to be true. Websites like craigslist and freecycle.org are connecting local people to offer free items that would otherwise be thrown out with the trash. Check these websites daily, or in my case, hourly for best results. You never know what you might find. Recently, I saw a craigslist ad posted for “free design books on curb with trash” located 3 blocks from my house. Ten minutes later I had expanded my library and saved bulk from heading to the landfill.
